Ross Cutler is the founder of King Tide Advisors, an independent, fee-only financial planning and wealth management firm. For Ross, starting King Tide was about creating the kind of advisory firm he believed clients deserved—one built around personal relationships, thoughtful advice, and a genuine understanding of the unique situations people face.
Ross’s path into wealth management began after graduating from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Early in his career, he worked closely with military families and gained firsthand experience with the unique financial decisions, benefits, and challenges they face. As his career progressed, Ross moved through roles in maritime shipping, financial planning, business management, and ultimately leading a team responsible for more than $150 million in client assets.
At King Tide Advisors, Ross works primarily with individuals, families, and business owners whose financial lives have become increasingly complex. He helps clients bring the different pieces of their financial lives together, including investment management, retirement planning, tax strategy, risk management, estate planning, and business exit planning. Rather than looking at each decision in isolation, Ross focuses on how those decisions work together and how they support the client's larger goals.
As a husband, father, entrepreneur, and business owner himself, Ross understands that financial decisions rarely exist only on a spreadsheet. They affect families, businesses, careers, and the lives people are working hard to build. That perspective is at the heart of King Tide Advisors and the relationships Ross develops with his clients.
Ross remains engaged with the financial planning profession through organizations including the Financial Planning Association, the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), and the Fee-Only Network.
Young Park is a Partner and Senior Advisor with King Tide Advisors, serving clients from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. With more than 20 years of experience in financial services, Young brings a broad perspective to financial planning—one shaped not only by his professional experience, but also by his years as a business owner, military spouse, and advisor to individuals and families navigating some of life’s most important transitions.
This experience has taught Young that financial planning is rarely just about investments or retirement projections. Often, the most important financial decisions come during periods of change—retirement, a career transition, the loss of a spouse, divorce, or a move into a new stage of life. His approach begins with understanding what a client is experiencing today and helping them create a clear path toward what comes next.
As a military spouse for more than 12 years, Young has a personal understanding of the opportunities and challenges that come with military life. Frequent moves, deployments, changes in employment, military benefits, retirement decisions, and the transition from military to civilian life can all have lasting financial implications. That perspective allows Young to connect with military families on a personal level while helping them navigate the financial decisions that accompany those transitions.
Young also has specialized experience working with individuals and families experiencing divorce. He helps clients better understand the financial implications of decisions involving assets, income, retirement accounts, budgeting, and the division of property, with an emphasis on helping them look beyond the immediate settlement and consider their long-term financial security. His goal is to bring clarity to an often emotional and complicated process so clients can make informed decisions about their financial future.
At King Tide Advisors, Young works collaboratively with clients to develop financial strategies around retirement, investment management, risk management, family transitions, and other important financial decisions. He believes the best financial advice begins with listening, understanding what matters most to each client, and building a strategy that reflects their individual goals rather than forcing their life into a predetermined financial plan.
Young earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing and Management from Ursinus College and holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation. He earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification in March 2024 and the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®) designation in 2025.
Outside of his work with clients, Young remains closely connected to the military community. He serves as Vice President and a Board Member of the Montgomery County, Maryland Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and previously served as Treasurer of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion Family Readiness Group at Fort Campbell, Tennessee.
For Young, successful financial planning is about more than reaching a number. It is about helping people understand their choices, navigate change with greater confidence, and build a financial life that supports the people and priorities that matter most to them.
